Loftus, Gerald (Pete)
DODGEVILLE - Gerald (Pete) Loftus, age 80 of Dodgeville, died on Friday, May 4, 1979, in Bloomfield Manor, after a long illness. Mr. Loftus was born in Dodgeville on December 22, 1898. He was married to the former Leone Walters on July 25, 1925. He was a graduate of the Platteville College in 1927 and taught math in the Dodgeville School for a short while. He then became the Elementary School Principal for the Dodgeville School System, retiring in 1966 after serving 39 years. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Dodgeville, and the National Retired Teachers Association. Survivors include his wife, Leone of Dodgeville; and several cousins. Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 7 at 10:30 a.m. in ST. JOSEPH'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, Dodgeville. The Reverend Henry Kalscheuer will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday from 3 to 9 p.m. at the LULLOFF-PETERSON FUNERAL HOME, Dodgeville where the Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. on Sunday evening. Memorials may be made to the Educational Fund of the Dodgeville School System.
